SERVER - Backup + Restore and Config Progress

Well FolkZ,

Here you can read what will be done during the refresh of our server system. I will "record" here all steps for the next days.

6-03-2009 :

cleanup - BACKUP Harddisk ( Restore Disc )

removing all old Plesk backup files manually ( Plesk itself can´t delete them )

backup of - SERVER config in plesk
backup of - USER Acounts in plesk - TRISTAR, VER-NETZT, MERCURY, NETACS ( only config structure )
backup of - DOMAIN Acounts in plesk - TRISTAR, VER-NETZT, MERCURY, NETACS ( only config structure )
backup of - DOMAIN Mail Messages in plesk - TRISTAR, VER-NETZT, MERCURY, NETACS ( first time only for testing reasons )

backup Manual - Creating directories for the USER Accounts
backup Manual - Filling all USER acounts with the VHOST FTP Files.

This day starts with some trouble. first our backups are marked as "ok and usable" but the system won´t accept them. After the 1. Server Crash and few Hours of experimenting with different ways and modes of the recovering system, it was possible to restore nearly all.

Adding - Informations to the OWNER Acounts.

HTML,E-MAIL and SQL Systems are on again ( 20 o Clock )
DOMAIN - Mercury-labs.org is on again ( 21 o Clock )
DOMAIN - Netacs.de is on again ( 21.30 o Clock )
DOMAIN - Tristar is on again ( 22.00 o Clock )

Recovering, Editing and verifying - ALL Accounts from NETACS, MERCURY and TRISTAR

UNABLE to Recover - Web-Users, they will be added manualy again.
UNABLE to create Quota - "deaktivated and no idea where it can be reactivated again" - I will add the Web-Users tomorrow ( seems that this was the Reason for the loss of Web-Users )

Modifying - PHP Ini Edited - *.PHP Scripts may take 60 instead 30 Secs. Requests may take 120 instead 60 Secs. Uploads can be 32 instead 8 MB and another Upload/Post limitation was raised up from 2 to 8 MB.

8-03-2009 :

Recovered - Web-Users also known as FTP Users. Added manualy.
Added - 3 Web-User Acounts for Artist Members.
Added - 3 E-Mail Acounts for Artist Members.
Added Tristar Netservices - Teamspeak ( configurating, and cleanup )

Started - Teamspeak and it works !
Started - Radio and it works too !

Restructured ALL Network services to work 100% independent from the main users "root","tristar-whq.net",.org,.com. every network service in tristar has now a "user" that is able to manage those systems in their own arials. means, saphirjd will be soon able to administrate the radio via "shell" if needed. the teamspeak system, irc-network and game services and all other services will be managed like this actuall we´ve :

- ADDED a FOLDER to Teamspeak and Radio with a short "HELP TEXT" how to start and also how to kill services.
- SCRIPTED Radio startup and process killing tool for "Shoutcast Radio"

all present and future services will be acessible via FTP and SHELL. Tristar is searching for people that will take place for some services. for radio, this will be "SaphirJD" but we need also for Teamspeak and later for IRC somebody that will also take care beside me about those services.

Server reinstalled the "right" Way....

as i noticed, some of the parts of the first refresh didn´t work, as example auto-updating the core system etc... due a mysterious failure the system halts and it was not possible to restart the system....well....in short... i...

reused the backup from the first refresh 1 week ago, and used an actuall backup from our database, so the forum is nearly in the form it works at least.... same counts for the web-base itself...

raver and me have setup a Counterstrike Gaming Server, later on, Raver will maintain this System in most cases, my work is ranged to store Informations and Backup files for this System. We are also Back with Teamspeak.

Please have some patience, Radio will following till next monday - evening.... afer all recent services will run normal, we will continue the enhancements of this presence and also all other binded systems....enjoy or hopefully last "Refresh for this Year. Next Update is planed after the end of support for Linux 11.x - so in early 2010...

Oder zu neudeutsch, ....letzte Woche fertig installiert, heim gekommen und stand still mit ner, ( über SER-CON eingeloggt auf unserer Kiste ) Kernel-Panic Message.... Dingen neu gemacht, und bis gerad eben Web und Forum klar gemacht, gestern Teamspeak mit CS installiert, CS wird später hauptsächlich von Raver ( Mehmet ) betreut werden, ich beschränke mich da auf Sicherungen und Tut schreiben und kümmere mich um das Web-Frontend und Infos rund um CT, Technik wird als 1. Mehmet halt machen...

Wolfenstein wird nochmals aufgesetzt und IRC kommt ggf. nach der BP erst.... Eile mit Weile oder so =)...

Shortform in english :

all ftp artists acounts working again ( needed to fix/do this for 2 manualy )
all emails are in work again - 2 negative feedbacks are left so give me a kick again and i change it to a new pw ( can be rechanged in the admin menue )

installed counterstrike - The main game now here in tristar and sehrschmal-shooters
installed rtcw - a classic ego-shooter
installed world of padman - a fun quake stand alone mod

reniced all games with level -10 ( so they may run a bit better and have an advantage for using the cpu )
reniced also teamspeak with level -10 (...just for fun

next step....bringing back the radio this weekend.

folgendes wurde heute erledigt :

ALLE E-Mail Accounts sind wieder verfügbar, bislang gab es 2 Rückmeldungen wg Probleme... Rest lief, sollten die Probs anhalten werde ich ein neues PW vergeben das dann im Admin Panel geändert werden kann.

Counterstrike 1.6 installiert und von Raver geconfi**t =)
Wolfenstein RTCW installiert 2.60 64Bit Burger
World of Padman installiert 1.x + Patch und neue Maps.

ALLE !!! services wurden "reniced" auf einen höheren Wert von -10
ALLE !!! Games rennen ( quasi ein Belastungs-Test )

Radio kommt die Tage auch wieder on...

NOTIZ an die CS Fraktion. bei Probs die Speedtechnisch vom Server kommen könnten. Bitte in der Konsole einloggen und folgende Pids toasten.

17258 danach SCREEN List und Wipe ggf auch dann gleiches mit dem World of Padman Prozess.

wer mehr als 2 Farben in dem Post sehen konnte, hat keine Herkules PC Grafikkarte mehr im Rechner

Linux haben und Linux kennen.... ein steiniger Weg.... aber so langsam kann ich sagen, ganz ohne Text Input System.... würde mir was fehlen

Haben heute schon Counterstike 1.6 gezockt, hat ne Menge Fun gemacht, somit haben wir nun...

am rennen, läüft auch bis Dato ( 8 Mann ) flüssig =) wad will man mehr =)

Dank gilt hier vor allem dem Raver der sich die Mühe gemacht hat, und Counterstrike sowie auch Counterstrike Zero Config und Startup technisch zum laufen zu bringen, Sauber !

Das Radio kommt am 5-6 wieder "technisch" zurück. IRC wird definitv erst nach der BP in Angriff genommen werden und bis Ende April starten ( dann aber im kleineren Rahmen, was vollkommen ausreichend sein wird ) auch wird die Process Prior dann, wenn möglich auf 10 runter reniced. Ob Text in 0,1 oder 0,5 Sekunden rausgehauen wird oder ein Filehandle so lange braucht wird keinen umbringen, kommt dann anderen Services zu gute, wo es wichtiger ist wie zb. TS, Radio und den Games ( HTTP läuft ja fix genug z.B...)

IRC Network will be back end of april.....

again with services like chan,bot, etc... and also some eggdrop modules. nothing special but... =) why not - there was since 1998 a irc-network for the crew and even if irc is a bit outdated for nowaday users, it will be come back like a good old friend...

by the way ARCHIVE_TMA i fixed the SQL Bug with the false link IDs - Seems that some cms systems have really problems with some sql/php Operations. but i will fix the most bugs in the sql database after i finished the irc-network.

ALL Functions for IRC Services are now finished and fixed.

use : /msg nickserv register PASS MAIL to create your account.
use : /msg nickserv identify PASS everytime you enter the network to identify yourself

Added Bouncer Support for IRC, so every ACTIVE and IRC !!! using Crew Member is able to get this Service if needed and wished.

...next Phase IRC EGGdrops for communication between the other services ( Radio , TS ) and for a bit Entertaining inside our little irc network.....

The core elements where configurated today and working fine.... now its time to bring some modules to the irc network.
